Maths No Problem

Progressive online group teaching with Phil, helping learners build understanding and confidence throughout the year.

SATs No Problem

Year 6 · SATs maths

Build confidence in arithmetic and reasoning, one step at a time.

Phil provides engaging, interactive lessons that support achievement in arithmetic and reasoning—the two areas assessed in the Year 6 maths SATs. With extensive experience preparing children for SATs, he understands that skills need to be taught, practised and built on for children to truly learn them.

SATs No Problem builds progressively throughout the year, helping children consolidate what they already know, learn new concepts and approach SATs questions with confidence.

How each lesson builds learning

  1. Revisit arithmetic

Each lesson begins with arithmetic, consolidating skills learnt in previous lessons.

  2. Learn and practise

Phil introduces a new arithmetic concept, explains it clearly and gives pupils time to practise.

  3. Apply reasoning

The lesson then focuses on one reasoning skill. It is taught, practised and applied to word problems in the style of the SATs papers.

Algebra No Problem

Year 7 onwards · GCSE preparation

A secure understanding of algebra, ready for the next stage.

Algebra is a major part of GCSE maths, so a secure understanding of the topic by Year 11 is important. Algebra No Problem is designed to build that understanding—whether your child has just started Year 7 or is approaching GCSEs and wants to strengthen their confidence.

Lessons build progressively throughout the year. Phil revisits earlier skills, introduces new learning and helps students apply their understanding to problems in the style of GCSE questions.

How each lesson builds learning

  1. Start with familiar skills

Each lesson opens with a starter activity that reinforces skills learnt in previous lessons.

  2. Develop new understanding

Phil introduces the new learning, teaches the skill step by step and gives students time to practise.

  3. Apply it to problems

Students use the skill to tackle problems in the style they will encounter in GCSE maths papers.
